Leadership Academy Nepal (LAN) organized Executive Leadership Development Program 2019 in collaboration with Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business Executive Education
LAN and Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business (Rice Business) jointly organized the second Executive Leadership Development Program, with focus on Chief Executives, senior executives and managers in a 4-day residential program at Swiss International Hotel Sarowar in Pokhara, Nepal. Twenty eight executives from banking, insurance, education, construction, media and other sectors completed the program.
As an ongoing executive education program in the region, ELDP aims to transform the advanced leadership and strategic management capabilities of senior business leaders across Nepal. Rice University Professor Balaji R. Koka, PhD delivered the program. The participants received an Executive Education certificate from Rice Business.
Mr. Michael Koenig, Associate Dean for Innovation Initiatives & Executive Director of Executive Education at Rice Business said: “The collaboration with LAN and Rice Business Executive Education aims to contribute to the development of high-skilled learning and development activities for Nepal and South Asia at large. Additionally, this partnership with LAN seeks to serve as a hub for thought leadership related to human capital development for business leaders from this part of the world.”
Dr. Arun R. Joshi, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of LAN stressed the importance of building effective and adaptive business leaders through high quality teaching. The focus will be on engendering contemplative leaders with strong core values and ethical standards as well as the essential knowledge and skills required to make significant contributions within their work and communities.
Mr. Jayendra Rimal, Chief Operating Officer of LAN underlined the benefits of providing world class learning and development to Nepali executives. Through efforts like these, it is hoped that the executives are exposed to the benefits of knowledge development and the inherent importance in their organizational settings.
In addition, LAN and Rice Business School have started bended/online training programs in the areas of leadership and strategy for manager to mid-level and young emerging business professionals. It comprises of live streaming sessions by Rice faculty and face-to-face interaction with local faculty. Participants completing these programs are awarded Rice certificates. These blended/online courses will be offered in spring and fall each year.
