Executive Leadership Development Program

The Executive Leadership Development Program (ELDP) is a high-intensive immersion program exclusively designed for enterprise and executive leaders in Nepal and South Asia to ensure they are personally and professionally prepared to successfully lead their organization.

The objective of the five days executive program is to familiarize business leaders with the foundations of leadership and some of the core principles in strategic management. The program will focus on personal leadership, managing other's performance, and improving team
effectiveness. It will help participants learn to recognize the underlying drivers of success. The program will also focus on key elements of strategy at the business and corporate level,
respectively – in doing so, it will build participants' ability to evaluate,develop, and implement value-creating strategies at each of these levels. The program will adopt an interactive learning approach to enhance participants' ability to 'ask the right questions' in the context of developing
strategy, which is a critical skill for any successful leader to have.

Award Wining Rice Faculty

All Executive Education faculty are award winning professors who teach full time in the MBA and EMBA program at Rice Business and have extensive business and consulting experience.

Professor Brent Smith, Ph.D. is currently Senior Associate Dean for Executive Education and Associate Professor of Management and Psychology for the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. Prior to his current academic appointments, he has taught at the London Business School, Cornell University, University of California at Berkeley, Oxford University, and the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad. He has conducted executive programs around the world for companies such as Shell, IBM, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Barclays, KPMG, ExxonMobil, BP, Lufthansa, DeBeers, Microsoft, El Paso Energy, Veritas, Dynegy, CGG Inc., Marathon Oil, Citibank, RedBull, Philip Morris International, NOV, Swedbank, Ulster Bank, RBS, and TOTAL. His teaching interests focus primarily on leadership and management development.

Professor Balaji Koka, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Strategic Management for the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. He joined Rice Business in 2008 from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He teaches in the Executive MBA and Full-Time MBA programs and received the Teaching Excellence Award from the EMBA program in 2014. Professor Koka received his BE from Madurai Kamaraj University in India, his MBA from Indian Institute of Management in India and his PhD in strategic management from the University of Pittsburgh.
